Meet the IPS 2025 participants: GABRIELLE and MARIIA

Meet the last (but certainly not least!) of our IPS Residency 2025 artists!

GABRIELLE MALBROUGH is a dedicated Scenic Designer and Artist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas. Her work includes notable positions at Jubilee Theatre, Theatre Three, SheDFW, and as well as the Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts in Southeast Texas. Currently a Senior pursuing a BFA in Design and Technology with an emphasis in Scenic Design at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), Gabrielle has significantly contributed to numerous UTA productions, including Head Over Heels, Night of the Living Dead, On the Town, Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 and Bright Star. Her work on Bright Star earned her the Excellence in Assistant Scenic Design Award from The Kennedy Center Region 6.

 MARIIA PETRENKO says I am currently completing my BA studies in Scenography for theatre and film at NAFAA Ukraine. My training is rooted in an approach that champions scenography as an active character on stage. Throughout my studies, I have participated in collaborative projects, including a partnership with the University of Arts London, where I designed a space that complemented their costumes. My passion for scenography also led me to several student productions as a set designer, where I honed my skills in visual storytelling and spatial composition. Recently, I contributed to a site-specific performance at Rurality Art Fest in Andalucía, Spain.
